Zur so genannten „Dienstaufgabe“ von Professorinnen und Professoren zählt unter anderem, für „die Umsetzung des Arbeitsschutzgesetzes […] zu sorgen.“ So wird es im Rahmen des „subsidiären Verantwortungsmodells“ der TUM auch im Berufungsschreiben formuliert. Welche Pflichten damit konkret einhergehen (Stichworte „Beurteilung der Arbeitsbedingungen“, „Unterweisung“ etc.), wie Sie diese zusammen mit Ihrem Team erfüllen können und wie die TUM Sie dabei unterstützt, erfahren Sie in diesem Vortrag. Change is a constant in academia – from digitalization and AI to organizational restructuring and evolving expectations towards teaching and research. Yet, many change initiatives fail to realize their full potential, often due to underestimated human and organizational dynamics. This Lunch Talk introduces key insights from the Change That Works approach, focusing on what drives or hinders change from a human perspective. We will explore what characterizes human reactions to change and why resistance is a natural and even useful part of transformation processes.

Building on this, the session presents 12 principles for effective transformation. These offer a structured, practical lens for designing and leading change initiatives in complex environments such as universities. The talk combines evidence-based input with concrete examples and invites participants to reflect on their own experiences and challenges in leading change.

Content

In line with the principles outlined in the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion (WHO, 1986), creating a healthy work- and study environment has been increasingly prioritized at Higher Education Institutions. In part, this is because universities operate in a highly competitive environment that requires extraordinarily high performance, the ability to reflect, and to deal productively with the setbacks inherent to the system. Being resilient, therefore, seems to be a crucial trait for researchers and students. But what exactly does resilience mean in the context of higher education? Why is it considered a protective factor? And how can one extend his mental strength?

Goals

• You will receive an overview of what the concept of resilience entails.

• You will learn what significance resilience has in the academic context.

• You will recognize what starting points there are to strengthen it, not only within yourself but also among your staff and students.

This workshop is designed for female professors in academia, offering a supportive space in which to develop your leadership skills. We will discuss key concepts and evidence-based tools for transactional and transformational leadership, focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities women face in academic environments. You will be invited to reflect on your own leadership style and work on your personal development plan to enhance your leadership capabilities.

Goals

• You know about the principles of effective academic leadership. 
• You can apply concrete leadership techniques to be more effective in your leadership role. 
• You know how to master typical challenges for leaders in academia. 
• You are aware of how others see yourself as a leader and where your potential for further development lies (TUM Leadership Profile).

Methods

You will learn concrete leadership techniques for the specific challenges you are facing as a (female) academic leader, based on state-of-the-art theories of leadership. You will receive an individual micro-development session to discuss your challenges and development plan based on your personal leadership profile (TUM Leadership Profile).

Wissenschaftskommunikation trägt wesentlich dazu bei, die Bedeutung von Forschung für die Gesellschaft sichtbar zu machen. In diesem vom Nationalen Institut für Wissenschaftskommunikation entwickelten E-Learning-Angebot erwerben Sie multimedial, interaktiv und selbstbestimmt grundlegende Kenntnisse der Wissenschaftskommunikation. Sie lernen zentrale Akteur:innen und Rollen kennen und setzen sich mit erfolgreichen Kommunikationsansätzen auseinander. 

Der E-Learning Kurs ist auf Deutsch oder Englisch verfügbar, jederzeit online abrufbar und lässt sich flexibel in den Berufsalltag integrieren.

• Sie kennen die wichtigsten Elemente erfolgreicher Wissenschaftskommunikation.

Die Erstellung und Bewertung von Arbeitszeugnissen gehört zu den Leitungsaufgaben von Professorinnen und Professoren der TUM. In dem vom DHV entwickelten E-Learning-Angebot erhalten Sie einen kompakten Überblick über die rechtlichen Grundlagen des Zeugnisanspruchs, die verschiedenen Arten von Arbeitszeugnissen sowie deren typischen Aufbau und Inhalt. 

Ergänzender Hinweis: Zur praktischen Erstellung von Arbeitszeugnissen steht allen Beschäftigungsstellen der TUM mit dem Haufe Zeugnis Manager Premium ein digitales Tool zur Verfügung. Weiterführende Informationen sowie organisatorische Hinweise sind im Dienstleistungskompass der TUM abrufbar. 

Lernziele 

• Sie kennen die grundlegenden Zeugnisprinzipien und rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen. 
• Sie verstehen den Aufbau und die inhaltlichen Anforderungen einfacher und qualifizierter Zeugnisse. 
• Sie können typische Gesamtbewertungen einordnen. 
• Sie wissen, wann ein Anspruch auf Erteilung eines Arbeitszeugnisses besteht.
